It is important to maintain a healthy weight as you age. Over weight combined with aging can make you more susceptible to illness and shorten your life. For middle age and older individuals, worsen  lifestyle habits and changes in metabolism can make weight loss difficult.Unexplained weight loss is a decrease in body weight, when you did not try to lose the weight on your own. Several  people gain and lose weight.  Many young adults can skip a few snacks or a meal or two and immediately drop five pounds.  Once we are past 40 to  50 years of age  this kind of quick weight loss is rare, due to a slowing of our metabolism that appears to be part of the aging process. As we age beyond 30 or so, we basically  lose muscle mass every year for the rest of our lives.  It may   accelerated by our tendency to become less physically active with age.  Muscles that are not properly used atrophy, or shrink and weaken, over time.

It is believed that this muscle loss causes a weakening of our metabolism, resulting in a slowing of our ability to burn our body fat and the foods we eat. Weight loss diets are  found everywhere.  There are uncountable  books, plans, websites, products and businesses out there begging for your attention (and money), and they all sound great.  The issue  is that most of them require you to cut your intake of the nutrients that support muscle mass or require you to eat so few calories that your body must break down muscle for energy.  As you grow older it becomes difficult to lose weight due to slow metabolism. It is estimated that your metabolism slows down 5% every decade after you turn 40. This can occur because of the loss of muscle, which plays a crucial part in maintaining your metabolism. If it becomes impossible to lose weight despite motivation program, diet plan & life style change it becomes imperative to consider .Surgical options in the form of banalsui or metabolic surgery as goal is to achieve healthy life.
