Mental disorders can affect Men & Women differently. Common mental health problems experienced by women include depression, anxiety, post traumatic stress, insomnia, and alcohol disorders, as a wide  range of somatic and psychological complaints. Good mental health is important  to overall well-being. Several  mental health conditions like as depression and bipolar disorder, affect more women than men or affect women in different ways from men.

Warning Signs of Psychological Problems:

  1. High and Low Moods
  2. Appetite loss
  3. Worry or fear
  4. Fatigue
  5. Aches
  6. Digestive issues
  7. Depression and Suicidal thoughts
  8. Drug/ alcohol abuse

Mental disorders can be treated:

  1. Psychological therapy

A discussion between the doctor and the patient about their symptoms and how to treat them can help

  1. Medication

It helps the patient to restore to the usual chemical balance in the brain. It can reduce or remove the symptoms. Some people can be cured by taking the medication for a while, others may need it for long duration.

  1. Community support programs

These are very important for people with psychiatric disability.It can include information, accommodation, help in finding work, psycho social rehabilitation.
