At the distinguished 10th IHW Global Summit held at Deira in Dubai, during the 'Sustainability Hour, ' our Founder and Managing Director, Dr. Dharminder Nagar made a very impactful statement. According to Dr Nagar, "Healthcare is a significant contributor to the problem."
Commenting upon the prevailing environmental crises that the health sector is facing today, he said, "Single-use plastics began to gain acceptance during the pandemic, and this has led to a crisis unprecedented in nature. The fact is that nearly 30% of India's landfill wastes are health-care originated products, and we need to act fast in reducing carbon footprint."
Having highlighted Paras Health's efforts at sustainability, Dr. Nagar pointed out mainstays like electronic medical records and considerable reduction in the amount of paper waste. He said: "Sustainability must be at the core of healthcare-not just for the benefit of our patients, but for the planet and the communities we serve.".
At Paras Health, we have always been driven under the baton of Dr. Nagar with sustained efforts to align healthcare practices with sustainability. Responsibility in healthcare delivery has brought new standards, and this recognition at the IHW Summit is a testament to our commitment toward creating a greener, more sustainable future for healthcare.
