• Several lives were saved at Paras ICU

Patna, 26 December, 2017: PARAS HMRI super specialty hospital’s mini ICU that was established in Patna’s Bypass Tent city during the Prakashotsav Shukrana ceremony, managed to save the lives of 59 visiting pilgrims. Once normalcy was restored, the patients were referred to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) and Indira Gandhi Institute of Cardiology (IGIC). Most of them suffered from diabetes, BP, and heart-related problems, while others complained of breathlessness and chest pain.

Elaborating further, Dr. Md Shahzada, in-charge, Tent City ICU, said, “Patients were being sent to us from the health camp set up by the government. A 62-yo female pilgrim from Punjab has had the issue of heart failure and her BP was too high. However, she was successfully treated at Paras HMRI ICU at the tent city. Another woman’s sugar levels had dipped, along with high BP and breathlessness. Yet another 45-yo male pilgrim suffered from epilepsy, as a result of which he could not speak properly. He was admitted into the mini ICU in a serious condition. Once these patients were properly treated at the mini ICU, they were released to be sent back IGIC.

He further added, “Two patients who returned from PMCH and IGIC after recovery praised Paras HMRI Hospital’s mini ICU for its unmatched medical facilities to patients. Paras mini ICU managed to save several lives during the Shukrana ceremony.”

Paras HMRI Hospital Facility Director, Dr. Talat Halim said, “We had installed two ventilators in the mini ICU at the tent city and the ICU was operational since 23^rd December. We treated around 56 patients during the ceremony that lasted between 23^rd and 25^th December. We made sure that senior doctors, medical experts were assigned duties so that devotees could get the best possible medical aid during their stay in the tent city.
