Paras HMRI Hospital, Patna has received accreditation from the prestigious National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare (NABH). With this recognition, it has become the first multi-super-specialty hospitals in Bihar to be accredited by NABH. In this context, a Training, Valedictory, and Certification Ceremony were organized by the hospital on August 8.
Mr Ramnath Kovind, Hon’ble Governor of Bihar, graced the occasion as the chief guest. Some other reputed guests included Dr K K Kalra, CEO of NABH; Dr SN Sinha, Principal, Patna Medical College; Dr. Sachchidanand Kumar, President of Indian Medical Association (Bihar State Branch); Prof (Dr) N R Biswas, Director and Vice Chancellor, IGIMS, Patna, Prof Dr GK Singh, Director AIIMS , Patna, Dr JK Singh, Padamshree and Dr Shaibal Gupta, Founder Member-Secretary of Asian Development Research Institute in Patna, Bihar and Non Executive Director, Paras Health.

Dr K K Kalra, CEO, NABH, who was also the guest of honor, handed over the certificate of NABH accreditation to the representatives of the hospital—Dr Dharminder Kumar Nagar, Managing Director, Paras Health; Dr A A Hai, Director-General Surgery, Paras HMRI; and Mr Arun Goyal, Facility Director & Unit Head – Paras HMRI Hospital, in the presence of the Hon’ble Governor. Certificates were also handed over to the participants of the NABH Training and Implementation Workshop Program, which had been held earlier.

The main certification program was followed by a video presentation and panel discussion on the ‘Future State of Healthcare in Bihar’. Stakeholders discussed the challenges involved in delivering quality healthcare services in Bihar and analyzed the road ahead. The session was moderated Dr K K Kalra and attended by reputed dignitaries attending the event.
NABH is a national body under Quality Council of India (QCI) certifying the level of quality care in healthcare providers. The certification they provide covers all the aspects of hospital management such as disaster management, infection control practices, equipment maintenance, customer feedback, credential checking, employee satisfaction, amongst other areas. “This accolade reassures our compliance to scientific processes and guidelines and we are confident to continue living up to the set standards in near future,” Dr A A Hai, Director-General Surgery.
