Srinagar:16th September 2017: UK Asian Business Council (UKABC) brings Paras Hospitals, Gurgaon to Kashmir Valley to Tie-Up for super speciality Facilities with Ramzaan Hospital Srinagar. Mr Taha Islam Coburn-Kutay, Chairman, UKABC commented, In response to The Hon. Chief Minister, Ms Mehbooba Mufti’s announcement of the policy of expanding healthcare infrastructure and Women empowerment, my organisation has facilitated this tie-up between Paras Hospitals of North India and Ramzaan Hospital in Srinagar.
In a collaborative effort between two leading hospitals, Paras Hospitals and Ramzaan Hospital Srinagar have come together to conduct OPD and IPD facilities in Srinagar for 16th and 17th August 2017.
This revolutionary initiative to reach out to the remotest parts of our country and spread medical facilities even near rocky terrains of Srinagar has been our aim. This completes our motto to strengthen the medical reachability in our country. The cost-friendly nature of this medical initiative is worth highlighting says Dr Neeraj Bishnoi, Unit Head, Paras Hospitals Gurgaon.
Welcoming this joined effort, Dr Zaffer Saleem Khanday, Paediatric Surgeon Ramzaan Hospital, “We are happy to have a panel of 4 doctors from Paras hospitals come all the way to Srinagar to share their expertise and treat the citizens of Srinagar”
Dr Zaffer, further added, “Jammu and Kashmir” are deficient in Super specialist doctors to manage rising number of cases. Although, reportedly, the government has implemented plans to upgrade medical facilities in Jammu and Kashmir. Such joined efforts by two hospitals will help to bring super speciality care for needy patients at their doorstep and at a much-reduced cost.
Dr Amit Shrivastava, Senior Consultant, Neurosurgery, Paras Hospitals Gurgaon and Spine told media persons that “Over a period of two days, we will be receiving patients suffering from neurosurgery, spine, cancer and nephrology related diseases and conditions.” In a region which lacks medical facilities, the efforts of these two hospitals have been to bridge the gap between the demand and supply of assistance to the common man.
Dr. Vinay Gaikwad , Senior Consultant and HOD, Surgical Oncology, Paras Hospitals Gurgaon said “The collaboration has also been done with objective of creating awareness and providing correct medical guidance to the people here on some of the major diseases such as various types of cancers and tumours related to spine, brain and peripheral nerves, among others.”
Such collaborations end-up benefiting the doctors as well. Dr Praveen Yadav, Senior consultant, Surgical Oncology, Paras Hospitals, also added: “While providing correct guidance and proper treatment for such diseases, we also get the opportunity to gain better understanding and insights into specific conditions of the people living here.”
“People suffering from kidney problems need to be more careful considering the extra physical effort required to live in places like Srinagar. Especially, after surgeries, due caution and care should be taken by the patient as advised by the doctors,” concluded Dr P. N. Gupta, Chief of Nephrology, observing the terrain, the weather, and life on mountains and plains around the Srinagar region.
