About Sheikh Zahoor Ahmad

Dr. Sheikh Zahoor Ahmad is a prominent figure in Surgical Oncology, currently serving as the Associate Director at cancer centre, Paras Health in Srinagar. He completed his MBBS from Government Medical College (GMC) and went on to pursue MS in General Surgery from SKIMS, followed by a DNB in Surgical Oncology from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham. He did a fellowship in Thoracic Onco Surgery at Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai. With over 12 years of extensive experience, Dr. Zahoor has served as both a professor and an Onco Surgeon at SKIMS, Soura, where he played a crucial role in establishing the Department of Surgical Oncology. His dedication to advancing patient care is evident in his commitment to integrating the latest medical advancements into his practice.

He has authored and published clinical books and journals in the field of surgical oncology and has also published around 50 research papers in national and international forums.

Dr. Zahoor has a special interest in treating malignancies of the gastrointestinal tract, thoracic region, gynaecological areas, as well as skin and soft tissue tumors. His compassionate and innovative approach has made him a respected leader in the field of oncology.

He has a more than 12 years of experience in the field of surgical oncology as a professor as well as an Onco Surgeon. He has worked in prestigious institution like SKIMS, Soura, Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai and Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Kerala.

 

Awards & Achievement:

  • Adjudged 2nd best poster paper for “Is Hysterectomy needed in Ovarian Cancer?” in AGOICON 2009, XVIII annual conference of association of Gynaecologic oncologists of India, held in Ludhiana, Punjab, India in November 2009.
