About Naseer Ahmad Mir

Dr. Naseer is a distinguished orthopaedic surgeon and the Associate Director of Orthopaedics at Paras Health, Srinagar, with extensive experience in joint replacement surgery and arthroscopy. He completed his MBBS in 1984 and subsequently earned his MS in Orthopaedics from Government Medical College and Hospital for Bone and Joint Surgery, Srinagar.  He further advanced his expertise by obtaining an MCh in Orthopaedics.

As a pioneer in his field, Dr. Naseer was the first surgeon to introduce joint replacement surgery and arthroscopy at SKIMS Medical College, where he has successfully performed thousands of hip and knee joint replacements, as well as numerous knee and shoulder arthroscopies. His comprehensive practice also includes the management of various fractures and spine conditions.

He has authored approximately 70 research publications in both national and international journals. Additionally, he has served as a Postgraduate Research Guide and examiner for the Master's in Orthopaedics program at SKIMS University Hospital, Srinagar. He has also acted as a guide and examiner for postgraduate scholars pursuing the Diplomate of National Board (DNB) in Orthopaedics across various regions of the country.

Dr. Naseer is highly regarded in the medical community, having been invited as a guest faculty member at both national and international conferences, delivering lectures in countries including the USA, Singapore, Dhaka, and Jordan. He serves as a National Faculty member for the prestigious AO Trauma International, where he actively participates in teaching trauma and fracture management across India.

Working Experience:

After completing his Master’s in Orthopaedics at the Hospital for Bone and Joint Surgery, Barzulla, he worked as a Registrar in Orthopaedics from 1991 to 1999. From 1999 onward, he held various Consultant Faculty positions at SKIMS Medical College Hospital. He served as Professor and Head of the Department of Orthopaedics from 2013, as well as the Head of the Arthroplasty and Arthroscopy Division till 2022.
