Antenatal Care During Coronavirus Lockdown

Do’s and Don’ts

1st TRIMESTER

What not to miss

  • Dual marker as by your Obstetrician & Gynecologist
  • NT NB scan at 11 to 12 weeks
  • Folic acid and doxinate and any medicines that have been prescribed for support by your gynecologist

Get all your antenatal investigations done at home only

  • Share your reports with your gynecologist doctor

2nd TRIMESTER

  • Do not miss your Level-II anomaly scan
  • Do not miss any important investigations advised by your gynecologist
  • Get home sample collection done during pregnancy
  • Continue taking iron and calcium as prescribed
  • If your tetanus shot is due it can wait. Do not panic as it can be given as late as 28 weeks

3rd TRIMESTER

  • Keep monitoring fetal movement count strictly
  • If you are perceiving less than 10 movements in a day please lie down on your left side for one hour and count for at least 3 movements in 1 hour and if still you do not perceive movements please let your gynecologist doctor know immediately
  • Do not travel or visit anybody unless very important

When to visit the hospital during Corona epidemic

  • If you experience any kind of bleeding or leaking or decreased fetal movements as defined above please inform a gynecologist near you immediately.
  • If you experience any abdomen pain which is intermittent in nature, increases in intensity & radiates from back-to-front then please report to your gynecologist doctor or hospital labor room/emergency.

Precautions to prevent the spread  of Coronavirus :

  • Do regular hand washing
  • Avoid touching your face
  • Do not take any over the counter medicines
  • During any emergency please contact your gynecologist doctor/ hospital immediately
