Malaria can be transmitted by blood through needle stick injury, sharing of needles by infected injection drugs use. In malaria early detection and diagnosis is important and additionally the right treatment is most important for saving life. However prevention is always better. There are few prevention strategies which should be followed strictly.

We should regularly spray insecticides in the living areas to ensure that the mosquito breeding is controlled. Source control is most important part of the strategy.

Administration of intermitted prevention treatment, seasonal malaria chemoprevention or chomo prophylaxis to high risk groups such as pregnant women, young children is a must.

Still vaccines against malaria are still in the developing phase, hence it is best that you consult a specialist and opt for the stick blood test for random testing of confirmation of Malaria.

This disease is found in certain parts of Africa, South and Central America, Mexico, Middle East, Southern Asia and India. There are several factors which are responsible for the increasing epidemic.

Malaria is one of most common diseases that are found in the world. Due to its common presence, it is also called home disease and is the leading cause of death worldwide.
