Paras Health, one of the country’s leading healthcare providers, today announced plans to launch the first 220 bedded super specialty hospital in the city, aimed at providing highly specialized tertiary care to patients from Panchkula and adjoining towns and cities.
This hospital will be the second healthcare facility launched in Panckhula by Paras Group, after Paras Bliss which is providing specialized mother and child care to the residents of the city.
Expected to commence operations within a year, this will be the first hospital in Panchkula to provide latest and most comprehensive cancer care facilities including medical, surgical, radiation and nuclear medicine services.
The launch is yet another step by Paras Health to expand its presence in tier II cities across the country to fill the void of quality tertiary care. Apart from Panchkula, Paras Health already runs hospitals in New Delhi, Gurgaon, Patna and Darbhanga.
The hospital has been conceived with an objective of providing world class tertiary care to people from Panchkula, Shimla, Kalka and other adjoining towns and cities who currently have to travel all the way to Mohali to seek specialized medical facilities.
“This will be the largest hospital in Panchkula so far as far as the number of beds is concerned. Not only will this facility be big as far as the size and number of patients catered to is concerned, but it will also be one of the most advanced healthcare providers in the city. With this new facility in Panchukula, we hope to make quality healthcare more accessible in this part of the country so that people do not need to travel to Mohali and New Delhi for quality treatment,” said Dr Dharminder Kumar Nagar, Managing Director, Paras Health.
“With most super specialty tertiary care providers located in metropolitan cities, residents of smaller centers across the country have to travel large distances to seek specialized and quality medical care. This is difficult and traumatizing especially when the treatment requires long hospital stays for the patient suffering from diseases such as cancer or renal failure. At Paras Health, we are striving hard to fill this gap by focusing on expanding our presence in tier 2 cities of the country so that people can avail of best treatment near their homes,” said Dr Kapil Garg, Director Business Strategy & Intelligence – Paras Health.
According to Mr Anil Sehgal and Mr Rajiv Jain, “We chose Paras Health as partners in launching an exceptional healthcare facility for Panchkula due to their different approach. Their unique positioning believes in empowering the common man with affordable, accessible and quality healthcare. They are healthcare providers that are passionate about bridging the gaps and making a difference to Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. We are fortunate to find people who believe in our dream – of making Panchkula one of the best and modern cities in North India.”
Paras Hospital, Panchkula will focus on a range of specialties including Cardiac Sciences (Cardithoracic and Vascular Surgery and Cath Lab Services), Neurosciences (Neurology and Neurosurgery), Orthopedics and Joint Replacement, and Trauma.
“Our country has seen an alarming rise in major lifestyle diseases like cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, hypertension etc. This surge is not limited to metro cities or urban centres, but has also penetrated smaller towns and rural areas which were hitherto considered less affected by lifestyle disorders. At the same time there is severe dearth of quality trauma care in our country, and establishing a highly equipped trauma centre is a major objective for this hospital,” said Dr Dharminder Kumar Nagar.
The hospital, slated to come up near IT Park, will also compliment the services of Paras Bliss, Panchkula, the already existing mother and child care hospital located at a distance of 5 kms.
