Paras Hospitals, Gurgaon launches Super Specialized Cardiac OPD at Dr. Shiv Ratan Heart Centre, Rewari

The OPD is dedicated to offer tertiary care to cardiac patients of the area who have to travel long distance to avail specialized cardiac care

OPD would have cardiac specialist from Paras Hospitals, Gurgaon

Leading mutli-specialty healthcare provider Paras Hospitals, Gurgaon today launched a dedicated Super Specialized Cardiac OPD at Rewari to provide specialized care to cardiac patients of the region which lacks tertiary health facilities.

The OPD will operate from Shiv Ratan Heart Centre where cardiac specialists from Paras Hospitals, Gurgaon will try to fill the void of specialized care.

Most rural and semi urban areas lack tertiary healthcare facilities and patients in emergency conditions are usually referred to the nearest cities from these areas. While the Delhi NCR region has several tertiary care centres, the adjoining towns lack the same.

Considering the existing gap, Paras Hospitals, Gurgaon, with its dedicated facility, intends to address the issue of lack of tertiary care by sending its cardiac specialist, Dr. Supertiksh Yadav, Consultant, Cardiology, Paras Hospitals, Gurgaon to the newly launched OPD. The specialist will examine the patients and refer them to Gurgaon in case of any emergency need.

Cardiac OPD Launch

“At Paras Hospitals, Gurgaon, we receive a lot of patients from Rewari regularly, not just for emergency heart conditions but for general consultation as well. This is why we thought about the need to fill in the void in the city itself, so that people can visit our facility and avoid travelling all the way to Gurgaon, if their condition can be addressed there. While the severest of the disease can be treated, a complete cure and surety for non-occurrence can be done by providing comprehensive pre and post treatment care. The need and requirement for tertiary care gains all the more importance in case of heart related issues. In some cases, even smaller heart ailments can grow to become life-threatening if appropriate care and treatment is not provided,” said Dr. Supertiksh Yadav, Consultant, Cardiology, Paras hospitals, Gurgaon.

To mark the event, Paras Hospitals, Gurgaon also arranged a camp to offer free consultation to the cardiac patients of Shiv Ratan Heart Center on the day of launch. Besides, the camp also offered examination such as ECG and other cardiac tests at subsidized rates to encourage people to go for cardio check up.

“In regions such as Rewari, which fall on outskirts of big cities, the awareness about importance of regular check-ups, possible heart concerns and likewise is not much. Resultantly, many people live under ignorance about their heart’s health until a life threatening emergency such as a heart attack or cardiac arrest happens. Through the camp we also tried to spread awareness about the need for preventive health check up to identify a problem on time,” said Dr. Shiv Ratan Yadav , Rewari

The OPD would be operational on weekly basis, every Saturday, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. The weekly OPD would also provide consultation, ECG and related test would be offered at subsidized rates.
