Paras JK Hospital, Udaipur saved the life of the patient in just 11 minutes by performing Angioplasty

Patient’s life was saved in just 11 minutes by angioplasty.
Acute total occlusion of the left main coronary artery (LMCA) is a rare clinical emergency
There are only 5 patients of LMCA in the world who have survived.

In a case of heart attack, usually one of the 3 arteries gets blocked due to arterial blockage. But it is very rare when the heart attack occurs due to the closure of the main coronary artery (left main). In such a case patients die at the time of heart attack, they cannot even reach the hospital. A similar case of heart attack was attended by Paras JK Hospital in Udaipur, where a team of expert doctors saved the life of the patient in just 11 minutes by performing angioplasty.

The hospital’s cardiologist Dr. CP Purohit told that one Brajendra Gurjar, a 60 year-old resident of Nathdwara was brought to the emergency department of Paras JK Hospital Udaipur, after he got a severe heart attack. The attack was so severe that he had fallen at the main door of the hospital.

Dr. CP Purohit told that in that situation, the patient was revived by giving CPR immediately in emergency and soon after his angiography, it was found that his left main artery had more than 100 percent blockage, due to which he had a fatal heart attack.

In medical term, this condition is called acute left main coronary occlusion. In this, the patient needs immediate treatment and if not doing so, the patient dies immediately. Dr. CP Purohit told that according to the medical journals, there are only 5 patients who have survived in such cases reported in the world. Adding to this, Dr. Purohit said that in such an emergency situation, time plays a crucially key role so without losing time, the patient’s life was saved by giving him treatment in emergency itself.

Hospital director Shri Vishwajit said that he congratulated the team of the hospital in this case. “I would like to tell that due to CPR and timely treatment, the patient’s life has been saved. We also conduct free training of CPR from time to time in our hospital”, He said.
Dr. Purohit informed that the patient has now been discharged from the hospital and is completely healthy.
