Dr. Hilal Ahmad Ganaie currently serves as the Associate Director of the Department of Neurology and Neuro intervention at Paras Health in Srinagar. He completed his MBBS at ASCOMS, Jammu, followed by MD in Medicine from SKIMS. He further pursued a DM in Neurology from WBUHS, Kolkata and a Fellowship in Stroke & Neuro intervention at the Agrim Institute of Neurosciences, Artemis Hospital in Gurgaon.
With over 15 years of extensive training and vast experience in Neurology, Dr. Ganaie has been actively involved in patient care and research since 2010. He specializes in stroke and vascular neurology, becoming the first individual to complete a neuro-intervention fellowship in Jammu and Kashmir. His advanced expertise is reflected in his pioneering work, having independently performed over 50 carotid stentings, vertebral artery stentings, subclavian stenting, and intracranial stenting procedures—the first of their kind in Kashmir. In addition, he has conducted more than 2,000 diagnostic cerebral angiographies and over 50 spinal angiographies, all without complications.
Dr. Ganaie has also completed more than 200 thrombolysis procedures and is actively engaged in mechanical thrombectomy for large artery occlusions in acute stroke, having worked in this capacity at Artemis Hospital, SKIMS, and Paras Hospital since 2017. Furthermore, he has significant experience in managing Subarachnoid Hemorrhage (SAH) and performing aneurysmal coiling, balloon-assisted coiling of aneurysm and device placement for aneurysms over the past seven years.
Through his commitment to advancing neurology in the region, Dr. Ganaie has established himself as a leading figure in neuro-intervention and stroke management.
